How to create US iTunes Accounts without Credit Cards (2013)

People outside of the United States have been felt left out by people who do iTunes gift card giveaways as those gift cards only for the US iTunes accounts, but in this tutorial, we’ll be showing you how you can get an US iTunes account without having to be in the United States.

Things you’ll need

There aren’t many things you’d need to prepare this, but here is a list of things that you’ll need to make your life easier:

  • An E-mail address that hasn’t been used yet (I prefer Gmail by Google)
  • An address from an US citizen (Find one from Yellowpages USA)

How you do it

This tutorial is going to be a quite detailed one, so if you missed anything, you can always watch the video that is embedded at bottom of the blog post. This tutorial is going broken in about 10 steps, this shouldn’t be too difficult.

Step 1 – Open up iTunes (make sure you have the latest version) now open up the iTunes store.

Step 2 – Now click on the ‘App store’ button on the black navigation bar.

Step 3 – Scroll down and find an application that is listed as “Free” and click on the icon of the chosen app.

Step 4 – Click on the ‘Free App’ button that is located right under the ginormous icon.

Step 5 – A pop-up will ask you to either create a new account or to sign in with an existing Apple ID. Click ‘Create New Account’.

Step 6 – Read and Accept to Apple’s iTunes/App store Terms of Services, and proceed.

Step 7 – Type in your Email address, desired password, and date of birth. Click continue.

Step 8 – There are going to be logos of different credit card services, but we’re not using any, so choose ‘None’

Step 9 – Now type in your Name and address.

Step 10 – If you did everything right, you’d see that an verification e-mail has been sent to the email you filled in earlier.

Step 11 – Open up your Email client, find the email Apple sent you, and click on Verify now.

Step 12 – You should be on Apple’s website now to complete the verification.

Step 13 – After successfully logging in, it’d say that your Apple ID has been verified successfully.

Step 14 – It should now redirect you to iTunes, once again saying your verified.

Thank you taking a look at my post, I hope it helped you out and keep checking back for quality posts.

Hi, I am trying to create a US itunes account like you suggested but when i opened my iTunes it doesnt have the App Store shown in your step 2. So when I tried to create a new ID via the App Store icon I need to enter credit card details and a US address. Could you please advise on this?

As of Oct 5, 2012 this works if followed carefully. I first did it not getting a free app as the tutorial says but getting a free book and it did not work. Doing it as stated (a free app, not a free song, free movie, free tv show, free book) it does work as advertised. You first have to be using the US Itunes store (choose it at the bottom of the home page inside Itunes).
